They are very loveable and playful cats, so make great pets who fit most households. Make sure to give them lots of love, cuddles, and playtime, to keep them happy and purring. Although these cats make for some of the most wonderful companions, they can be strong-minded, and will be sure to give you a run-around if they don't respect you. They tend to attach to one person specifically, so feel honoured if you are their favourite, and be sure to give them lots of love to say thank you.

#9 - Ragamuffin
For even more sweet cuddles, the Ragamuffin is a shoe-in. The Ragamuffin are incredibly caring and warm companions, who love cuddles and kisses. They adore being lap-cats, and make purr-fect pets for families with children due to their gentle and patient natures. This also makes them good with other kitties, and they will typically adjust well to multiple cat households. They also have beautiful long coats that make them the floofiest pals around, but make sure to brush that fur regularly to avoid tangles and furballs. Keep them loved and entertained, and they will be the best friend you could wish for.
Ragamuffins will adore our Rosemary Selection in Jelly, as it's full of tasty and lovingly prepared ingredients for happy tummies. With different sources of rich protein, this dish will soothe every cat and keep them purring.
Moving onto a stylish breed who captures hearts all across the UK with their loveable nature and adorable looks.
#8 - Persian
Who doesn't love a Persian? This breed has been popular for many years now, not just in 2024, for it's fashionista fur and kind and adorable demeanour. This cat has undeniable style, as long as you help them with their grooming with a good brush every now and again. They are relaxed and independent, but need to be loved and doted on to keep their sweet nature. This makes them pretty versatile and well-suited to a variety of households, so its soaring popularity makes total sense. The Persian is an excellent choice for big families who want a pussycat pal to adore and play with for years to come.
Our Tuna with Salmon Mousse is a favourite choice for Persians, as the stylish and refined taste is sure to suit such a fashionable cat. This meal provides a unique flavour profile for any passionate pussycat, whilst being packed full of superfoods to keep bodies healthy, and fur shiny and soft.
Let's move to our next breed, a charming and unique kitty who will be the best companion around.
#7 - Devon Rex
Another fantastic family cat here is the Devon Rex. This is because they are patient and headstrong, whilst remaining loyal and protective to their families. They also won't turn their nose up to a big cuddle, and have an adorably unique look. Make sure you have lots of toys and high perches for this breed, they love to play and climb, working hard to get the stimulation they need. They are big softies behind the fearless exterior, and will love those close to them like no other.
Our Chicken Chunks is our top suggestion for playful a Devon Rex, as its no-nonsense recipe matches this breed perfectly. A classic dish of healthy meat, this meal is sure to show the soft side behind any tough kitty.
Our next entry on our list is a classic breed that loves playtime and purring, as well as exploring the great outdoors.
The playful and curious European Shorthair loves lots of exploration and playing with their favourite humans. They can be shy at first, but will adore pets and cuddles once they open up. Their curious nature means they may get into mischief from time to time, and enjoy hunting outside, so keep an eye on these cheeky chaps. They are fiercely loyal to their companions, but are intelligent enough to make it clear when they need space. They love nothing more than chilling out with their owners, and joining a loving, relaxed family, which more than makes up for some chaos here and there.
For the European Shorthair, it's got to be our Chicken Mousse, as this tasty and hearty meal is sure to fuel adventures, and be followed by a good long nap. Everyone loves a classic dish, whether it's a whisker licking Chicken Mousse, or a loyal and good-natured European Shorthair.
At #5, we have another classic breed that has been making lists for a long time. Can you guess who it is?
The Siberian has been a popular pet choice throughout the years, for their easy and gentle natures that fit in great with families of all shapes and sizes. They are generally very blissed out and calm, and are happy to look after themselves most of the time. Siberians, although pretty chill, love to play and exercise due to their strong builds, and enjoy exploring to keep stimulated. Make sure to have lots of high perches and puzzles to discover, so this breed can keep fit and use their strength to explore. They also have incredibly thick and luxurious coats due to their cold weather roots, so help them out with regular brushing so they can stay sleek and shiny.
If you've got a glamourous Siberian to feed, our Cranberry Selection in Broth is definitely a go-to. This yummy meal is bursting with goodness and zingy flavour that will keep tummies happy, and coats smooth and luscious.
Counting down to the top, we're looking at a breed with another fabulous coat, and a personality that is just as fabulous to match.
The ravishing Ragdoll breed are sweet and sassy kitties, who love being lapcats and lots of cuddletime. They adore making friends and connecting with others, so slot into families very easily. This breed has charm coming out of their ears, and they needs lots of love to keep them happy and content. Due to their gentle and cuddly natures, they are paw-fect for older or less physically able owners as they don't require lots of playtime and running around like other breeds do. They will however, need some brushing and maintenance for their long and lovely fur. We can see why the Ragdoll is popular across the board, as this loveable scamp strikes the perfect balance between giving you affection and enjoying their independence.
We recommend our Chicken Casserole for Ragdolls, as this meal provides all the goodness you could need, alongside hearty and delicious flavours. This dish is well suited for a cat that is just as unique and charming.
Speaking of beautiful fur, this next breed is another gorgeous pussycat, but a Shorthair this time who needs much less time at the salon.
Of course, the British Shorthair has to make our list. They are kind, loyal, and understanding, so it's no wonder that people gravitate towards them. These cats are not only in the top 3 of the UK, but are also ranked very highly across the world. The loveable breed make some of the best friends you could ask for, and are very bright and curious cats. British Shorthairs can be quite independent, and choose to give their love to only a select few, so feel very honoured if you are the chosen one. They are not always the most social cats, but can cope well with other animals and children if socialised well from a young age. Keep your British Shorthair kittens stimulated and social to help them to grow into well-rounded cats.
A mellow and kind kitty deserves a treat that suits them, such as our Parsley Selection in Sauce. These varied meals provide excellent flavour and much needed TLC for cats everywhere, that will be sure to earn you lots of cuddles as thanks.
At number #2, we have another stunning pussycat whose loveable nature matches its sweet appearance.
What a cutie! The Maine Coon is beloved by many for its adorable face and gorgeous coat, in addition to its easily-going and loyal nature. This cat has been a top breed in the UK for many years now, and continues to rank highly for its versatility. Maine Coons make wonderful companions, being loving and gentle cats as well as very smart cookies. They make playful and active kitties, loving to explore the outdoors and maybe even hunt you a present or two. We think the Maine Coon is well deserving of their spot here, and will be ranking highly throughout 2025 as well.
A Maine Coon's best friend is always our Chicken with Carrot Pâté, as this tasty meal suits a practical pussycat perfectly. You can't beat the classics; this meal will satisfy hungry bellies and keep every cat healthy and happy.

The top spot on our list goes to the wonderful Bengal. This kitty is beloved by all for its unique look, super sweet nature, and versatility. Bengals check all the boxes for the purr-fect pet: good with kids, loveable, playful, and super cute! Bengal's fun-loving and sociable natures mean they are often a wonderful addition to families, enjoying lots of cuddles and playtime. Their main drawback can only be that they have a cheeky streak that means, especially kittens, like to get into mischief in the pursuit of play and adventure. But as long as you are prepared for it, even their crazy antics can melt hearts and have everyone bringing home their very own Bengal buddy.
Our Chicken with Salmon Delight is our star choice for Bengal kittens, who need flavour and fuel for all that energy and love. Packed full of protein and delicious flavour, this is a meal for kitties on-the-go, who still make time for dinner with their best friends.
