Sounds cluckin' delicious!

The Story Behind Poultry Pâté

The humble pâté is a recipe featured at parties, events, and high class functions all over the world, but has been enjoyed for centuries. Going all the way back to Ancient Greece, the creamy dish originates from the preparation and enjoyment of fatty poultry livers ground into a smooth consistency. This was then enjoyed throughout Europe in the Middle Ages as an economical way of using animal meat, before it was dubbed 'pâté' by the French, roughly meaning paste or mixture. This was then refined into a fanciful dish, as a way of exploring complex flavours and meats. Today, the pâté is still a beautiful centre piece for any event, as well as being a very popular meal for pets alike. Our stance has always been that our pets should eat as well as we do, and the pâté more than encompasses this ethos, allowing our four-legged friends to enjoy flavourful meats in a palatable form.
