Cartoons have been a staple medium for TV shows and movies throughout the years, and acts as an incredibly charming way to portray characters and the world around them. With cartoon people, of course comes their cartoon best friends. Some of the most iconic and remembered dogs in history have come straight from our TV screens, so we've decided to shout-out our very favourite animated pups throughout the years. Check out our list below to see these paw-fect pooches, and which Tilly & Ted meal we think they'd vibe with.
1. Scooby-Doo
As one of the most iconic cartoons of all time, it's certainly no surprise that Scooby-Doo would make our list. Running from 1969 up until today, Scooby-Doo has been the star of his very own cartoon, and has captured the hearts of both children and adults alike. Known for his characteristic vocals and wacky antics, this pup is one top dog. Our favourite iteration of this animated pooch has to be in his original series 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!', as its classic humour and whimsical animation will forever be truly iconic.
For this sweet and silly pooch, our Roast Dinner is the ultimate tail-wagging delight, as it's designed to be a taste sensation, whilst containing all the nutrients needed for your older dogs.
2. Santa's Little Helper
'The Simpsons' has been a staple on our screens for a long time now, and has definitely earned its place as a classic cartoon. The family of zany characters wouldn't be complete without their waggy best friend, Santa's Little Helper. The adorable greyhound first appeared in 1989, as Bart and Homer decide to adopt him in a Christmas special episode. He's been a firm fan favourite ever since, for his goofy antics and the dogs-eye view of the world he provides. The delightful dog even goes on to have a whole litter of puppies in the series, creating more paw-some cuteness for us to enjoy.
This classic dog gets a classic meal: our yummy Chicken Dinner recipe. The dish is not only beloved by all, but keeps bellies fuelled and hearts happy, so your dog can tackle any adventure that comes their way.
3. Snoopy
If you're looking for not only the most iconic cartoon dog, but one of the cutest as well, it's got to be Snoopy. Snoopy is the faithful Beagle of Charlie Brown, and first appeared in the comic strip 'Peanuts' in 1950. After the success of the comic strip, a TV special was created in 1965, 'A Charlie Brown Christmas', which reached such success that subsequent holiday TV specials were released each year, as well as multiple movies across the coming decades. Alongside his best friend Woodstock, Snoopy is known for his imaginative adventures and happy-go-lucky outlook on life. The loveable pup has been at the forefront of pop culture for 75 years and counting, and continues to be a cult classic today.
We reckon this cheeky chap would love our Salmon Traybake meal, to help his creative juices flow with its delicious and unique flavours. It is also simply bursting with superfoods and goodness, to help pups grow and keep tails wagging.
4. Goofy and Pluto
If we're talking about iconic cartoons, Disney is a clear front runner for memorable and timeless characters. Some of our favourite members of the Mickey Mouse gang are Goofy and Pluto. We've put these two wacky dogs together, as we couldn't choose who was the more paw-fect pooch. Goofy first appeared in 1932 as one of Mickey's best friends and companions throughout adventures. He has since become a classic icon for Disney, and has appeared in countless movies and TV shows, such as 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse', and 'The Goofy Movie'. Although less of a prominent character, Pluto actually predates Goofy appearing in 1931. He is Mickey's faithful dog, and is loved for his exaggerated expressions, and unique reactions compared to the anthropomorphic characters.
We think Goofy and Pluto would have the best time with our classic Chicken with Salmon Pie, as it has a hearty and yummy flavour profile to help young pups grow. There's nothing like a delicious meal to help your dog learn, explore, and live their best waggy lives.
5. Gromit
Oh Gromit, what a heart-warming pooch you are. 'Wallace and Gromit' have been an absolute pillar amongst British animation, as the unique style and down-to-earth characters appeal to all. Gromit is the forever enduring pup to Wallace, the excitable inventor whose creations often create never-ending mess for poor Gromit to resolve. His silent expressions and determined nature make this pooch beloved by fans everywhere, making him more of a star than a sidekick. He first appeared in the short film 'A Grand Day Out' in 1989, before appearing in multiple short and feature-length films, as well as TV too. We can't wait for even more Gromit in the future, and we're sure that more madcap adventures will be to come.
We think Gromit's vibe matches our Lamb Kebab perfectly, as it is crafted to be soft and gentle on tummies, whilst packed full of delicious flavour and zingy superfoods. This is one meal that that will have your dog thanking you with cuddles and kisses galore after a yummy bowlful.
